Welcome to Cat Tien National Park

Cat Tien National Park, nestled in Đồng Nai province, offers an immersive escape into Vietnam’s rich biodiversity. With a solid rating of 4.3, this natural haven is a favorite among nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. Located conveniently at the Cat Tien Farmer Lodge in Nam Cát Tiên, visitors can enjoy a blend of accessibility and wilderness.

The park's diverse ecosystem draws attention with sightings of gibbons, crocodiles, deer, bison, monkeys, and a stunning variety of birds. Visitors like Jarrod Alexander have cherished the unforgettable Gibbon Trek — a premium experience that rewards travelers with the rare sight and song of gibbon families. While some activities, such as the Night Safari, caused mixed feelings due to logistics, the overall wildlife encounters remain remarkable.

Self-guided bike tours and trekking routes offer intimate ways to explore the park’s vast greenery and watch wildlife up close. Axel Nonnenmacher’s experience cycling through rugged trails captures the sense of adventure many feel here. For those seeking more convenient exploration, guides provide invaluable expertise, highlighting hidden flora and fauna and increasing the odds of rewarding wildlife encounters, as noted by Brightscales.

The warmth and helpfulness of the local staff and guides stand out. As Lauren Hodgetts points out, their personalized assistance—from organizing treks to recommending great food—enhances the entire visit. Accommodation options like the Cat Tien Farmer Lodge complement the park’s offerings with cleanliness and quiet comfort, as well as practical amenities like bike rentals.

Visiting Cat Tien National Park stirs a deep appreciation for Vietnam’s wild heart. The vibrant jungle, the hum of wildlife, and the subtle thrill of discovery evoke a powerful connection with nature. While some elements, like tour pricing or weekend crowds, may require planning, the park’s authentic beauty and biodiversity leave a lasting impression. For those drawn to ecological richness and hands-on wildlife experiences, Cat Tien National Park remains a must-visit destination.

We did the Gibbon Trek, Night Safari and hired bikes for a day. The Gibbon Trek was great, quite expensive compared to other tours but worth it - we saw a family of Gibbons and heard them sing. The night Safari was not what we expected - they pile about 25 of you into a noisey diesel truck and chug down the road away from the National Park. We saw plenty of deer but that’s it - would give this one a miss if we ever came back

The park is great. Nature, animals and finally nearly no trash. We were lucky to see some animals (crocodiles, monkeys and birds). Don't forget to buy a ticket for the crocodile lake at the park entrance (245k/person). Expensive ... but we saw a lot of crocodiles :) We did a bike trip on our own. The road is a little bit bumpy on the very first kilometers, but after the intersection where you go into the direction of the crocodile lake it's absolutely fine. From the crocodile lake to the Ficus the road is much worse. I would always recommend renting some bikes outside of the park. The bikes in the park are old city-bikes, especially if you want to drive further than to the crocodile lake. The last 5 km to the lake you have to walk anyway.

The staff here are so lovely and helpful and booked everything we needed and gave great advice. Great food too! We had a lovely stay here and highly recommend visiting the area. The national park is spectacular. Thanks to Tien from this accomodation for organising our night safari and early morning gibbon trek.

I visited this national park in Sep few years ago. We took a bus from Mien Dong station to get there, you also can ride your motorbike. There are many activities you can experience here: rent bike to cycle around (we luckily saw a herd of bison grazing), hiking, visit wildlife rescue station, go on a nocturnal wildlife tour (not many things to see), stay in Crocodile Lake (Bau Sau). Personally, Bau Sau is the highlight of my trip. We rent a jeep (there is also bike for rent) to get to forest entrance, it is abt 10km from the visitor center, and then had 5km hiking through the forest to get to Bau Sau. Hiking was quite easy but there were a lot of leeches, mosquitos and insects in rainy season, but the weather was nice. We were the only group on that day. At night, we saw deers and crocodiles with lit up eyes. Delicious meals cooked by rangers. Fresh and cool air, foggy morning, gentle sunset, and a silent night. An unforgetable experience!

I enjoyed being in the park. Our lodging arranged tours for us to join so we didn't have to deal with the staff other people say are bad. I do recommend taking a guide. No, it is not needed per see but she spotted so much wildlife you would never find on your own, and got information about various plants as well. We did a guided trek to the crocodile lake with a jeep transfer for the first part. It was extremely hot so we weren't comfortable biking, but you can also bike with a guide I think It was amazing, we saw a lot of animals. We did the eco trail with the same guide and saw gibbons and other primates. We overall had a great time. One star deducted because they were doing loud karaoke inside the park at night. This is beyond ridiculous and disturbs the animals. They should stop that nonsense.

Cat Tien National Park is just beautiful. We stayed for two nights. It was hot ..but it is hot everywhere. On the weekend lots of buses full of people come. If you want things a little more quiet come during the week. There are wonderful places to stay and great places to eat. We were very happy here on our way from Saigon to Da Lat.

Exceptionally helpful staff, we communicated on WhatsApp before arrival and got much needed help for the transport. Very affordable, clean rooms, albeit small. Had everything we needed. Perfect location to explore Cat Tien National Park. We stayed for 2 nights, that was a good length for our stay. High quality bicycles where for rent for 100.000 a day, but it costs another 100.000 for the ferry to get to the national park. Breakfast (excl. drinks) was included, which we didn’t know, nice surprise. Restaurant was very good and affordable in general. Highly recommended to stay here if you want to visit Cat Tien.
